Director Agri reviews physical, financial achievements under different CSSs, CAPEX

SRINAGAR: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal, today convened a meeting of departmental Officers at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi here to take stock of the physical/ financial achievements under different centrally sponsored schemes (CSSs) and CAPEX.

During the meeting, different CSSs being implemented by the department including RKVY, MIDH, ATMA, NFSM, PM KISAN, CAPEX Soil Health Card Scheme, Kissan Credit Card Scheme, etc. were discussed in detail. The projects under the holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors were also discussed threadbare.

Addressing the meeting, Director Agriculture highlighted the importance of expeditious and judicious expenditure of funds under different schemes, and projects. He asked the officers that funds allocated under different components of CSSs must be expended in a time-bound manner. He reiterated the importance of maintaining the highest level of transparency and accountability during all expenditures.

Director Agriculture asked the concerned officers to work in close coordination with District Administrations during the implementation of different initiatives at the district level.

He directed the officers to reach out to the farmers of every area and make them aware of viz-a-viz latest farmer’s friendly technologies in the agriculture sector. He asked the officers to work in collaboration with the representatives of Panchayat Raj Institution for the successful implementation of different schemes at the grassroots level.

Joint Director Agriculture (extension) Mohammad Syeed Peer, Joint Director Agriculture (inputs) Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Joint Director Mushroom and Apiculture Tabassum Naz, Deputy Director Planning Mohammad Younis Chowdhury, Deputy Director Central Wahid-u-Reham, Chief Agriculture officers of concerned districts and other senior officers of the department were also present in the meeting.
