Srinagar, Feb 10: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gilani, an IPS officer of AGMUT cadre, to hold additional director general posts or equivalent posts at the Centre.
According to an order, the ACC has approved the empanelment of Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gilani and 32 other IPS officers for holding the posts of additional director general or equivalent posts at the Centre.
An illustrious officer of the 1994 batch of erstwhile J&K cadre, Gilani has held key positions in his service career.
Gilani, who is presently serving as ADGP Armed, has held key posts like Director Anti-Corruption Bureau, IGP Kashmir, IGP Crime, and SSP Srinagar.
During his central deputation, Gilani held important posts in the Central Bureau of Investigation.
