Srinagar: Police in Baramulla Friday said that it recovered an abducted minor girl and arrested the accused person involved in the crime.
Police spokesman in a statement said that yesterday Police Post Delina received a written complaint from a resident of Juhama Baramulla saying that his daughter (name withheld), aged about 14 years, has been kidnapped by one Adil Ahmad Dar, son of Farooq Ahmad Dar of Banyari Ajas Bandipora.
A case was registered and during subsequent investigations police raided a specific location and recovered the abducted girl within 4 hours from Banyari Ajas Bandipora. The accused kidnapper was also arrested on the spot and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
After completion of medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the matter is going on, police said.
