Ganderbal: A driver died after he was hit by an iron road near an under-construction tunnel at Sonamarg area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.

An official told Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the driver was hit by an iron road while offloading iron from his truck near the under-construction tunnel and fell unconscious.

He said that soon after the incident, he was taken to the sub-district hospital Kangan where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

A police official identified the deceased as Balvinder Singh (48), son of Amrit, a resident of Ludhiana.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and have started further investigation.
