DHSK chairs preparatory meet for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023

Srinagar: Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather today chaired a preparatory meeting for the upcoming 2023 Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, after the successful completion of the 2022 Yatra.

The other officials who attended the meeting were CAO DHSK, CMOs, the yatra Nodal officer, and other members of the dedicated yatra Team.

Dr Mushtaq directed the officials to make better use of technology to make the yatra safer, more comfortable, and more convenient for pilgrims.

“We should convey the message of “Atithi Devo Bhava” to the whole country through this Yatra,” he said and added that a large crowd of devotees is expected to throng the holy cave this year due to low covid restrictions.

He asked the CMO Anantnag and CMO Ganderbal to examine the condition of all health facilities and to start all arrangements for the pilgrims along the way.

He directed the officials to explore the possibility of setting up mini intensive care cells to handle emergency cases. He further directed Principal RIHFW Dhobiwan to arrange special training programs for healthcare workers with special emphasis on modern gadgets to tackle emergency cases during Shri Amarnath ji Yatra.

Further, he emphasized that the recent trend of heart attack cases has imposed a threat and that our health workers during Amarnath Yatra duty should be well-versed to tackle such cases.

Dr Mushtaq urged officials to come up with innovative ideas to improve healthcare facilities for pilgrims. He directed authorities to identify deficiencies before time so that remedial measures will be taken for the smooth conduction of the Yatra.
