The public meeting was part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra awareness programme.

Addressing the enthusiastic largely attended public gathering at far at Mati-Gawaran (Kokernag), Ghulam Ahmad Mir said BJP’s policies are based on lies and deceit detrimental to the idea of India and the democratic institutions in the country, which are under attack since the BJP Govt assumed power at Centre. “Every right-thinking citizen feels suffocated under the BJP rule, as that, there was no sector left which has not been damaged due to the highhandedness and misrule on the part of the BJP. The dictatorial attitude of the Modi Govt is pushing India towards distress and darkness,” Mir said.

The ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi will bring the derailed democratic setup back on track, besides ensuring stability, freedom of speech, expression, and protection of Institutions empowering and benefiting people directly since the Nation achieved freedom from the British colonial rule after sacrificing thousands of precious lives.

India will not afford to lose its Institutions, as they guarantee justice, equality, and protection of citizen rights irrespective of color or religion.

Mir referred to the current security scenario and derailed the political process in J&K and emphasized the people to join and support the Congress party in the fight against BJP’s highhandedness and endeavors to abandon J&K of democratic rights aiming to fulfill its political agenda.

On this occasion, Mir apprised the gathering about the significance of the Bharat Jodo Yatra and said the Yatra is not for the Congress Party but for the Country. “India is passing through an era of highhandedness, discrimination, and hate politics under the BJP Govt at the Centre, and this Yatra is for the betterment of the people,” Mir added.

Former JKPCC President said Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi has infused confidence amongst the people, it will bring the Nation out of the morass and confusion created due to hate and religious politics by the BJP RSS, Mir said.

On this occasion prominent NC Leader and Sarpanch Gawran Bashir Ahmad Khari and PDP Leader and Dy. Sarpanch Larnoo Raqeeb Ahmad Khatana joined Congress Party and expressed full confidence in the pro-people programme and policies of the Party.

Those who addressed gather included Senior Leaders Zaffar Salati, Mohd Iqbal Mir, Gh. Hassan Bhat, Sheikh Prince Chairman MC Kokernag, Manzoor Ahmad Rather, Majid Chowdhary, Saleem Ganie, DDC Member Vessue Bilal Ahmad Deva, Gul Mohd Naik, Bashir Ahmad Shergujree, Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh, and others.

Former JKPCC President and other Party leaders welcomed former NC & PDP leaders into Congress Party.
