After giving a patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the PRI members and other individuals, the DC sought an on-the-spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp. He assured the people of Astanmarg and other areas of Harwan Block that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be looked into on priority.

Addressing the gathering, the DC said the District Administration is holding such grievance redressal Camps to take an appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and on-ground assessment to ensure their time-bound redressal.

He said such programmes also provide feedback to the Administration to frame developmental plans as per proposals of the local populations for the public good and reach the doorstep of the people instead of them visiting the DC office or other Government Offices.

With regard to the development of roads to the upper reaches of Astanmarg, the DC assured that the demand for the Syedpora-Fakir Gujri road via Astanmarg will be reflected in PMGSY-4 to further improve the living conditions of the local population.

The DC also directed for conducting of special assessment camps for disability certification in the area to facilitate the beneficiaries of Dara, Fakir Gujri, Mulnar, Syed pora and other areas in Harwan Block.

He also said that measures are underway to bring the Astanmarg area on the tourism map of the district to further improve the socio-economic conditions of the local people.

On the occasion, the DC mentioned that as many as 151 works were taken up in the area and payment to the tune of Rs 3 crore have been disbursed so far in Harwan Block.

During the tour, the DC inspected the pace of various ongoing developmental works including the construction of the Health and Nutrition Centre at Saidpora Bala being executed at a cost of Rs 16 lakh under the Aspirational Block Development Programme.

The DC instructed the concerned Officers to expedite the works within set timelines to ensure people are timely benefited.

He also took stock of the Syedpora-Fakir Gujri road via Astanmarg and asked the concerned to prepare the DPR for the same so that work for the road is taken up under PMGSY.
