People don’t trust traditional political parties anymore: Altaf Bukhari
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar: Taking a dig at the traditional political parties for their deceptive politics, Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Sunday said that “these political parties have been befooling the people through false narratives and fake promises for their own political gains, over the years.”

“However, they stand exposed now and people do not trust them anymore,” Bukhari added.

According to a press release issued here, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari was addressing a party rally in the Salar area of south Kashmir’s Pahalgam constituency, wherein people gave a rousing reception to the party leader on their arrival at the rally venue.

Denouncing the deceptive politics by the conventional political parties, he said, “Over several decades, these political parties have been alluring people through emotional politics just to attain power and remain in power.”

He explained it further, “Earlier, they befooled people for years on the name of so-called ‘plebiscite movement’. Then they started harping about things like ‘autonomy’ and ‘self-rule’. And, now they are trying to mislead people by saying that they will get abrogated Article 370 and 35 A back.”

“They only want to get their hands on the votes of innocent people so that they can attain power once again. But, this time people are well aware of their political gimmicks,” he added.

Cautioning people against misleading politicians, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari urged them not to fall into their trap anymore.

“You must be remembering that in the recent past, at the time of DDC elections, they came to you, allured you, and sought your votes saying that they will get the August 5, 2019 occurrences undone. Did they do this after they won? They never meant what they told you and promised you during their poll campaign; they just used you to attain power for themselves. Now, it is your responsibility not to fall into the trap of their fake promises anymore,” Bukari said.

“A couple of years ago, the same political parties formed an amalgamation called PAGD. At that time, they boasted that they will make New Delhi reverse the abrogation of article 370. Now, after realizing that they cannot do so, they have almost disintegrated the alliance,” he added.

Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari further said, “Over the past 75 years, the conventional political leaders have created empires for themselves and their families, but pushed common people to poverty and deprivation. They do not have political parties; they have their family enterprises in the name of political parties to attain power and accumulate riches for themselves.”

Addressing the rally Apni Party’s Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir said that the traditional political parties ought to apologize to J&K people, especially the youth for making them cannon fodder through emotional narratives and arousing slogans.

“For their political benefits, these politicians created unwarranted narratives and emotional slogans to allure the youth and eventually pushed them to land either in jails or in the graveyards. We have lost thousands of young people during the past more than three decades, and we have witnessed young boys going into jails and coming out as aged people during this period. These barefaced politicians must lower their heads in shame for what they have done to this place and its people, over the years,” Mir said.

He further said, “Even after so much bloodshed on this land, these ruthless politicians still try to befool people through their deceptive politics. One of the leaders recently boasted that he will repeal the draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) once his party comes to power. Someone must tell him that J&K is a Union Territory (UT) now and UT does have powers to repeal such laws. Therefore, they must stop tall-talking now.”

On this occasion, Apni Party General Secretary and former MLA for Pahalgam constituency Rafi Ahmad Mir extended his gratitude to the party workers and local leaders for ensuring a large public rally. In his speech, he talked about the local issues and problems that the people of Pahalgam are grappling with.

Rafi Ahmed Mir assured people that Apni Party if gets mandated to serve the people, will ensure all public issues are resolved.

“As you know that Apni Party’s key agenda is to work for the peace, prosperity, and development of Jammu and Kashmir. If our party is elected to power, we will ensure the dividends of development reach each and every soul and household in Jammu and Kashmir. I have a vision about my home constituency — Pahalgam, and I will ensure prosperity for the people of this beautiful place,” he said.
