IRCS Blood Bank to be made functional by Jan 2023: Div Com Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole today convened a meeting of officers to review the readiness of the infrastructure of the Blood Bank established by Indian Red Cross Society, (IRCS) J&K in Srinagar.

The meeting was attended by ADC, Srinagar; General Secretary Indian Redcross Society, J&K; officers of JKPCC, GMC, Directorate of Health Services of Kashmir, State Aids Control Society, PDD, etc.

The meeting discussed the completion of pending work of the Blood Bank, the release of payment, and the deputation of medical and paramedical staff for the operation of the Blood Bank.

Addressing the meeting, Div Com directed JKPCC to complete the entire pending work of Blood Bank infrastructure by the 15th of January so that it could be made functional as soon as possible.

The meeting was assured by the concerned agency that the pending work of steel doors and glasswork for window frames shall be completed on time.

Meanwhile, Div Com asked Srinagar Smart City to release an amount of Rs 1 crore to JKPCC while the rest of the funds should be released after the completion of pending work and operation of the Blood Bank.

 

Regarding, the deputation of staff to strengthen the manpower of the Blood Bank and to provide services, Div Com issued directions to the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir to provide six staff members to the Indian Red Cross Society, J&K, including a Pathologist, Lab Technician, Lab Technologist, Nurses.
