The meeting was informed that initially 29 projects of agriculture and allied sectors, which are aimed at transforming our agriculture profile from subsistence type into a sustainable and commercially viable entity, would be brought under the ambit of this high-tech system.

ACS had a detailed discussion on several important issues regarding the development of this digital platform of APD which inter alia included implementation guidelines, financial framework, implementation framework and monitor able indicators.

While addressing the meeting, Atal Dullo said that the UT administration is initiating several unprecedented interventions to transform agriculture and allied sectors in J&K and these 29 projects are a part of that initiative.

Atal Dulloo said that, given the huge importance of these projects, an efficient monitoring framework is of paramount significance in not only ensuring that the expected outcome is achieved but also providing regular feedback on the achievement of set targets. He said that the Agriculture Production Department intends to establish a web-based reporting, monitoring, and analysis dashboard/module that will provide an interface to the targeted beneficiaries.

ACS directed the concerned officers to focus on three main issues including receiving and processing applications, measuring the output of every project, and aggregating all the information regarding these projects. He said that the aim of these 29 projects is to secure livelihood for more than 13 lakh farmer families, especially the most marginal 2.8 lakh families.

The meeting also deliberated upon several monitorable indicators of 29 projects envisaging transformation of agriculture and allied sectors in J&K. These included the development of seed and seed multiplication chain, promotion of niche crops in J&K, promotion of vegetables and exotic vegetables under open and projected cultivation, strengthening of agriculture marketing, promotion of beekeeping and Nutri cereals (Millets).
