Srinagar: Police on Monday claimed to have solved a robbery case within 24 hours by arresting three accused persons.

A police spokesman in a handout said on December 18, Police Station Chadoora received a written complaint from one Shakir Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmad Shergojri of Nowpora, Chadoora, saying that he along with his brother Wahid Ahmad Shergojri was returning from Srinagar in their auto-load carrier and they were stopped and attacked by three persons travelling in a Tata load-carrier (JK04H-2086) near Badipora Chadoora.

The police said that the attackers snatched cash Rs 20,000 from the driver of the load-carrier and fled away from the spot.

A case was registered, and during investigations, police succeeded in arresting the three persons involved in the crime, and recovered the snatched cash from their possession, police spokesperson said.

He said the vehicle used for commission of crime has also been seized.

The involved arrested persons have been identified as Nasir Hussain Malik, Mohammad Saleem Bhat, residents of Charar-e-Sharief, and Irfan Ali of Hufroo. Further investigation into the matter is going on, the spokesman said.
