LCMA conducts demolition drives against illegal structures, encroachments

SRINAGAR: The Lake Conservation & Management Authority through its Enforcement Wing under the supervision of Enforcement Officers undertook demolition drives today in the areas of Khimber, Lal Bazar, Pahloo Brein, Botshah Mohalla Lal Bazar, and Ashaibagh.

The team was accompanied by the Police Contingent from PCR, Srinagar.

During the drive, two tin wallings, 03 single storey structures, and 01 raft for a plinth were demolished.

Moreover, illegally earth filling dumped in the area of Saida Kadal & Nigeen Club were also removed during the drive.

An officer of LCMA said that Legal action against the violator was initiated by the department.

Meanwhile, people in these areas have been warned not to resort to any illegal construction & encroachments and were asked to get proper building permission from the competent Authority before taking any construction activity.
