Srinagar: In the ongoing 14th Edition of Prof. Yousuf Memorial Cricket Cup 2022 being Played at Islamia College Srinagar, the last match of the first round could not be completed due to a wet pitch and soggy outfield.

Only seven overs of play were possible before rain played spoilsport. GDC Anantnag had made 44 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Earlier, GDC Mattan lost the toss but went for the wickets, getting a good purchase from the overcast weather conditions.

Two teams were received in a brief inaugural session at the toss by Prof. Javaid Hussain, Dean Biosciences, and Senior Faculty PG Department of Zoology. He appreciated the commitment of the two sides and their desire to go with the play.

Umpires had made it a 17 Over match aside, curtailing 3 overs. Pertinently, the lineup for the Quarterfinals is pending yet. 7 teams have booked their places and today’s winners should have fixed the next round.
