The court directed the concerned police authorities that wherever the accused is traced, he should be brought before the court. The accused is facing allegations of fraud and cheating for which action (in FIR number 169 of 2021) has been initiated against him by the police.

The investigating officer in the case informed the court that the accused was absconding and is not traceable.

Meanwhile the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla has directed his subordinate officers to execute the warrant of arrest against the accused Iftikhar. The SSP has directed that the accused be arrested under section 512 under CrPc and compliance report be submitted to the concerned court without wasting any time.

Section 512 stipulates that if it is proved that an accused person has absconded, and that there is no immediate prospect of arresting him and the competent court can try such person for the offence complained of in his absence.
