GDC Bijbihara defeats GDC Kupwara by 26 runs

Srinagar: In the ongoing 14th Edition of Prof. Yousuf Memorial Cricket Cup-2022 being played at Islamia College Srinagar, Government Degree College Bijbihara defeated Government Degree College Kupwara by 26 runs.

Teams lined up for a brief ceremony at toss interacting with today’s guest Professor Zahida Mehraj, Head, P.G. Department of Zoology, ICSC, Srinagar.

The toss was won by Government Degree College Bijbihara and they elected to bat first and scored 142 Runs in the allotted 20 Over, Zeeshan scored 57 Runs in 42 deliveries and Umer Farooq scored 18 Runs in 16 deliveries. For G D C Kupwara Talib took 04 and Ishfaq Sheikh 03 Wickets.

Chasing a target of 143 Runs G D C Kupwara could score 116 Runs only in 19.4 overs, Sajad Mir scored 43 Runs in 35 deliveries, Abid Mir and Suhail scored 17 and 15 Runs respectively.

For Government Degree College Bijbihara Farhat and Shoaib took 03 wickets and Zeeshan and Yawar took one wicket each. Zeeshan of Government Degree College Bijbihara was adjudged Man of the Match for his good Batting performance.

Tomorrow the 10th of December 2022, in the 10th match of this tourney, Government Degree College Anantnag will play against Government Degree College Mattan.

The Tournament is being Organised by the Department of Physical Education Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.
