Soch Kral 1st Inter-College T-10 Cricket COSCO Tournament for Women concludes at GDC Women, Pulwama

PULWAMA: The Soch Kral 1st Edition of Inter College T-10 Cricket COSCO Tournament for Women 2022 concluded on 6th December at Government Degree College (GDC) for Women, Pulwama.

The tournament commenced on 24 November 2022 and was organised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports, GDC for Women, Pulwama, here.

As many as nine colleges of the valley participated in the tournament played at the College ground and included GDC Pulwama, GDC Bemina, GDC Women M.A Road Srinagar, GDC Awantipora, GDC Bijbehara, GDC Rajpora, GDC Frisal Kulgam, and the host College (GDC for Women Pulwama).

The first match of the tournament was played on 24 November between GDC Bemina and GDC Women M.A Road Srinagar.  The four teams who qualified for the semifinals in the knockout T-10 COSCO tournament were GDC Rajpora, GDC Women M.A Road Srinagar, GDC Women Anantnag, and the host College. Finally, the two teams who qualified for the final were GDC for Women Anantnag and the host College.

The final was played on 6th December 2022 in which GDC for Women Pulwama set a target of 67 runs in the allotted 10 overs at the cost of seven wickets for the chasing team. In reply GDC for Women Anantnag chased the target within 6.3 overs at the cost of five wickets and won the title by five wickets.

The player of the match was declared and awarded to Shabnam Jan from GDC for Women Anantnag and the player of the tournament was declared and awarded to Urmila Jan of Government Degree College for Women Pulwama.

Prof. Yasmeen Farooq Khan (Principal of the host College) and Prof. Farooq Ahmad, Senior Faculty Member of Government Degree College for Women Anantnag were the chief guests of the final match.

The facilitators of the event were Prof. Yasmeen Farooq Khan (Principal of the host College) Dr. Satinder Singh (Convener Sports Committee) and other staff.
