BANDIPORA: Director General E&S Athar Qadri visited Bandipora towns as part of the ongoing Jan Abhiyaan ‘My Town My Pride’ programme and reviewed ongoing developmental projects to ensure the saturation of the deliverables under Jan Abhiyan.

Qadri conducted physical verification of the work on the construction of the Children’s Park with Open Air Gym at Sonabarn and formally inaugurated it after verification.

Later, the Director General visited Bandipora Town and visited the stalls put up by different line departments showcasing their performance in various sectors.

He interacted with the people to get feedback about the performance of these departments. The Director General distributed Land Holding passbooks to various landholders.

Later, Qadri chaired a meeting of officers to review the saturation of deliverables under various sectors. On the occasion, officers gave a detailed presentation about the progress and performances of various departments.

It was given out that under Jan Abhiyan 20 works were targeted to be completed in Bandipora town including the construction of lanes, drains, and tiled paths at the cost of Rs 27 lac.

Officers informed the meeting that 126 persons were self-employed in three towns of the district besides issuing 646 PMJAY Golden Cards and 172 land passbooks.

Officers informed 63 cases were sanctioned under different subsidy schemes amounting to Rs 1.11 Crore. Officers informed that 76 water tests at different locations have been conducted to ensure the purity of the water being provided to the public.

On the occasion, Qadri urged the officers to ensure the benefit of schemes is passed on to the public in letter and spirit. While highlighting the importance of holding the My Town My Pride Programme, Qadri said that the programme is envisaged for disseminating general awareness about government schemes.

He advised the officers to strive for full saturation of all the deliverables prescribed by the Government and called for reaching out to the maximum number of people and educating them about the job-oriented schemes.

The Director General also interacted with the general public and appealed to them to take benefit of the initiative of ‘Jan Abhiyan Shehri’ wherein departments are coming to their doorsteps to aware and educate people about opportunities being given by the government departments through schemes and programmes for the upliftment of socio-economic conditions of the people.

Later, Director General along with Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad (District Statistics & Evaluation Officer) Bandipora, President MC Bandipora, CEO MC Bandipora, Executive Engineer R&B Bandipora and other officers also conducted the physical verification of developmental works/projects executed by PWD (R&B) under UT sector/District Sector in Municipal Council limits Bandipora.

Later, at S.K. Stadium Bandipora the Director General distributed the prizes among the players who participated in the events viz cricket, Volley Ball and Tug of War.

Officials said all the Departments are playing their vital role in conducting various activities both in Rural as well as in urban areas which after saturated fully will improve and uplift the socio-economic condition of the general masses.

The Joint Director Imtiyaz Ahmad stated that Bandipora towns are witnessing huge transformation as big development projects are being executed in towns.
