Keeping in view the non-availability of heated infrastructure and “as per our need, we will announce winter vacations for a short period,” she said.

She added, however, that the scheduled examinations will be conducted on time and wherever required, teaching faculty will also continue academics.

On being asked about measures taken by the university regarding the sexual harassment cases, she said in every institution, there should be an internal compliance committee, as per a Supreme Court ruling.

“There are Supreme Court rulings that internal compliance committees should be setup in educational institutions. So far as the incident that took place last evening is concerned, one person has already been placed under suspension and I am sure that college administration would have taken a call on it and action as per rules will be taken against the accused,” the VC said.

“Internal compliance committees must be set up in all educational institutions while proper awareness among girl students and societal restructuring is must to prevent such incidents from taking place,” she added.
