DC Ramban Reviews progress of Forest Right Act

RAMBAN: The Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam who is also the chairman of District Level Forest Right Act Committee (DLFRAC) today convened a meeting to review the progress on implementation of Forest Rights Act 2006 in the district.

SDM, Banihal Zaheer Abass, SDM Gool, Tanveer-Ul-Majid, DFO Ramban Dr RajanSingh,   All BDOs, Range officer Ramban District, sarpanches, Forest Right Act Committee Chairmen and Secretaries participated in the meeting.

The DFO Ramban who is nodal officer FRA informed that 303 claims have been disposed of out of 1081 claims received so far. He further informed that only 22 claims are pending at DLC level and rest all cases are pending with FRC .

The review of each panchayat was taken and bottlenecks/constraints in disposal of the claim at FRC/Gram Sabha were discussed with FRC Sarpanches Chairman and Secretaries.

The directions were issued to conduct special Gram Sabhas in all the Panchayats, where the claims have been received on top priority and clear the pendency within one-week time. Timelines were fixed for each FRC for disposal of the pending cases.

The Revenue, forest and RDD officials were directed to provide full cooperation in claim verification, conduction of gram sabha etc.
