Restore Statehood, hold early Assembly Election: Altaf Bukhari
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

JAMMU: Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari on Tuesday demanded the restoration of Statehood to J&K and the holding of early assembly elections to end the suffering of the people amid growing economic crises, unemployment, and underdevelopment.

Addressing party leaders and workers following the inauguration of a newly constructed meeting hall at Apni Party Headquarter in Gandhi Nagar in Jammu, Altaf Bukhari said that the LG administration has completely failed to come up to the expectation of the people which has led to the suffering of the general masses in J&K.

“The electricity and water supply system has almost collapsed in Kashmir and parts of Jammu region with the onset of the winter season. The Power Department has imposed 18 hours long power cuts in many areas and it has left people hopeless in absence of an elected Govt,” he said.

“The failure of the LG administration has put the people in a difficult situation. The issues like economic crises; unscheduled power cuts, improper water supply, horticulture, agriculture; underdevelopment, and unemployment are among the burning issues which are being faced by the people in J&K,” said Bukhari. In this situation, he said, “the restoration of Statehood and holding of early assembly elections in J&K is a must. The delay in the holding of assembly elections will further add to the problems and it would not be suitable for J&K where people had hopes with the LG administration.”

He said that in the last four years of LG rule, the underdevelopment and unemployment has increased many folds in all the regions and people desperately want statehood back and holding of assembly elections to end the growing feeling of alienation.

“A politically elected Govt is answerable to the people. Therefore, there must be an elected Govt in J&K to end the public suffering and address the issues accordingly. The people are passing through a difficult phase amid growing economic crises, unemployment, and underdevelopment,” he said while highlighting the policy and agenda of the Apni Party for equitable development and employment.

On this occasion, dozens of students joined the Apni Party in presence of Party President, Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari, State General Secretary, Vijay Bakaya, Provincial President, Jammu, S. Manjit Singh, and other senior leaders of the Party.

Bukhari welcomed the youth into the party fold and hoped that their joining would strengthen the Party at the grassroots level. He also discussed with them the issues faced by the young generation and assured them of all support from the party.
