Saurabh Bhagat reviews SVEEP, Special Summary Revision of Bla PC

BARAMULLA: Commissioner Secretary, Science, and Technology Department, Saurabh Bhagat, who is also Electoral Observer for Baramulla Parliament Constituency, today visited Baramulla and chaired a meeting with all district officers to review activities being carried out in the district under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation Programme (SVEEP) to spread awareness about the ‘Special Summary Revision’. 

After a comprehensive discussion on the subject, Commissioner Secretary directed the concerned officers to adopt a multipronged strategy and work in mission mode to ensure the registration of all eligible voters in the district.

Commissioner Secretary exhorted upon the officers to work with added zeal and proficiency to increase the percentage of enrolment in the district. He stressed upon them to step up their activities and ensure that no person, who has attained the age of 18 years, should remain uncovered under Special Summary Revision.

He also exhorted upon the officers to work in tandem and maintain coordination so that the best results could be yielded at ground level. He also gave various other directions to make the system more vibrant.

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish, apprised of the SVEEP and other related activities being carried out in the district for disseminating awareness among the people. She informed that workshops on electoral awareness under SVEEP are being organized by the district administration in schools, colleges, and every Panchayat in the district.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sopore, Parvaiz Sajad, EROs, AEROs, SDMs, Joint Director Planning besides other functionaries of concerned departments were present in the meeting.
