NIT Srinagar to host 8th edition of NBL in May 2023

Srinagar: The 8th edition of the biennial International Conference on Nanotechnology for Better Living (NBL-23) will be held at the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar in May next year.

The event will be organized in association with the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi from 25-29 May 2023, which marks the birth anniversary of Physicist and inventor Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit.

On Saturday, Honorable Lt. Governor J&K, Manoj Sinha released a brochure of the 8th Edition of the International Conference on ‘Nano Technology for Better Living’ which will be jointly organised by NIT Srinagar in collaboration with IIT BHU) Varanasi and many other prestigious institutions.

Director NIT Srinagar, Prof (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal said the scientific event is expected to provide a vibrant platform to present and discuss path-breaking research ideas in nanotechnologies.

“It shall be an interface between academia and industries. Eminent experts from across the country will deliver keynotes, address, and lectures on various topics during the mega scientific event,” he said.

Registrar NIT Prof. Kaiser Bukhari said the international conference will be a platform for young researchers of the Institute and other participants from across the globe.

“Nano-science has emerged as one of the most critical areas of research and has given the remarkable current and futuristic impact of the subject on vital sectors of human existence,” he said.

Prof. Bukhari said during the last couple of decades, this field has already taken the developed world by storm, of lately—including emerging economies. These conferences are the need of the hour, he said.
