LG gifts Kashmiri saffron to PM, briefs him about recommendations of Apex Committee on holistic development of Agriculture and allied sectors

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today presented a bouquet of Kashmiri saffron to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi describing it as a ‘special gift of gratitude to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji from people of J&K” and also briefed him about recommendations of Apex Committee on holistic development of Agriculture and allied sectors.

The LG also called on Defense Minister, Rajnath Singh in New Delhi today.

“A special gift of gratitude to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji from people of J&K. In ancient Indian tradition Saffron is referred as ‘Bahukam’. As harvest festivity draws near, symbol of joy & light GI tagged exquisite & enchanting produce is ready to be delivered globally,” LG tweeted.

The LG briefed the PM about the recommendations of the Apex Committee on the holistic development of Agriculture and allied sectors for raising farmers’ income and time-bound implementation of reforms to boost agriculture exports, and creation of modern infrastructure and value chains, LG’s office revealed in another tweet.

Meanwhile, Defense Ministry tweeted that LG Sinha today called upon the Defense Minister, Rajnath Singh.

“The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha called on Raksha Mantri Shri @rajnathsingh in New Delhi today,” Defense Ministry tweeted.
