Srinagar: Police in Budgam Saturday claimed to have solved a hit and run case within hours by arresting an accused person involved in a road accident that had left a young girl dead.
Today morning an unknown vehicle hit and injured 15-years-old Iman Gulzar, daughter of Gulzar Ahmed Hajam of Harkarmulla Budgam at Harkarmulla. The injured girl was rushed to JVC Hospital for treatment where she succumbed to her injuries.
A case (FIR no. 381/2022) was registered in Police Station Budgam and during investigations, police zeroed in on the driver involved in the hit-and-run case, a police spokesman said.
The accused identified as Shahid Nazir, son of Nazir Ahmad Hajam of Harkarmulla Budgam, was arrested and shifted to the police station, the while vehicle (JK04G-9135) involved in the accident has also been seized. Further investigation of the case is in progress, police said.
