Srinagar: Apni Party on Sunday held workers meeting at north Kashmir’s Tangmarg to discuss certain party issues and the present political scenario.
The meeting was presided over by the party’s senior Vice President and former Cabinet Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir. The meeting was attended by the party workers from Tangmarg and Kunzar areas.
The prominent participants included DDC Member Tangmarg and Youth Vice President Advocate Mir Tajamul Ishfaq, DDC Kunzer Sheik Nazir Ahmad, Block President Kunzer and Municipal Chairman Kunzer Abdul Kareem Dar, BDC member Lalpora Shaheen and others.
According to a press note, certain party issues were discussed in the meeting. Ghulam Hassan Mir while addressing the meeting asked the party workers to enhance their political activities and public outreach in order to strengthen the party further at the grass root level.
He said, “It is encouraging that Apni Party’s ongoing public outreach programme has been getting tremendous response from the masses. However, we must work harder to strengthen the bond with the people at the grass root level. It is our responsibility to make masses well aware of the party’s people-friendly programme and its vision for the better future of J&K people.”
On this occasion, Ghulam Hassan Mir assessed suggestions put forth by senior party workers in order to make the party cadre more vibrant and active in various areas of Tangmarg and Kunzer.
Meanwhile, Apni Party Vice President and District President Shopian Zaffar Iqbal Manhas urged party workers in Shopain to enhance their political activities and public outreach in order to serve the people in their respective areas.
He was speaking at a workers’ meeting, which was attended by the party workers from Shopian and Zainapora constituencies. Prior to the meeting, Manhas formally inaugurated the party’s district head office.
According to a press release issued here, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas presided over the worker’s meet in which certain party issues were thoroughly discussed. On this occasion, the district-level workers authorized Zaffar Iqbal Manhas to reconstruct the district body, including the organizational setup of the district youth wing. These bodies had been disbanded earlier for a reformation process.
While addressing the meeting, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas urged the party workers to boost their political activities and public outreach to ensure they serve the people of their respective areas.
He said, “We know it as a matter of fact that people in Shopian are grappling with various public issues which need to be resolved. Thus, it is our primary responsibility to identify these issues and the overall public grievances and bring these matters to the notice of concerned officials for quick redressal.”
He added, “Since Apni Party is a party of the masses, people expect us to help them to get the public issues resolved by the concerned authorities. We ought to fulfill the expectations of our people. Therefore, I urge you to keep yourself always available to the people in order to help them get their grievances resolved.”
Manhas also asked the party workers to ensure their participation in the public rally which is going to be organized in Srinagar on November 12.
He said, “Party is going to hold a large public convention in Srinagar, and workers from all the districts of the Valley are supposed to attend this important event. Thus, you must prepare to ensure large participation of the workers and people from Shopian in the Srinagar rally.”
Zaffar Iqbal Manhas also asked to party workers to gear up for the forthcoming assembly elections. He said, “The elections might be held any time in J&K, and you must prepare for this in order to enhance public outreach in your areas. It is your duty to make the masses aware of the people-friendly policies and agenda of the party.”
Besides, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, the prominent leaders who were present in the meeting included State General Secretary of the party’s youth wing Irfan Manhas, Abdul Qayoom Shah, Advocate Gowhar Wani, Choudhary Nazir Ahmad, Haji Majeed, Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Advocate Tanvir, Bilqees Jan, Choudhary Fazluddin, Abdul Rashid Lone, Nigeena Akhtar, Zakir Hussain, Suhail Rather, and others.
