Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal solved a hit-and-run case by arresting the accused person, a police spokesperson said Friday.
He said on October 26, an accident occurred at Derand, wherein a bike rider — Manzoor Ahmad Kaloo, son of Ghulam Ahmad Kaloo of Nesbal Sumbal — was hit by an unknown vehicle resulting in his on-spot death. The driver of the unknown vehicle fled from the spot along with the vehicle.
After registering a case, police initiated investigations and zeroed in on and arrested the accused driver identified as Ghulam Hassan Kandro, son of Ghulam Mohammad Kandro of Ashai Bagh Nigeen Srinagar. The vehicle (JK01H-4211) involved in the accident has also been seized, police spokesperson said.
He said further investigation of the case is in progress.
