SRINAGAR: Principal Secretary Housing & Urban Development Department (HUDD), Dheeraj Gupta, today chaired the 1st Union Territory Level Technical Committee (UTLTC) meeting for approval of the Revised Action Plan of various implementing agencies under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0. 

Commissioner Secretary Forest, Ecology & Environment, Sanjeev Verma, was also present.

During the meeting, it was informed that the revised Action Plan of SBM-U 2.0 duly vetted by IIT Jammu has been forwarded to the Administrative Department for approval of UTLTC.

It was given out that for JMC, the revised cost is Rs 164.43 Cr while the approved cost is Rs 140.21 Cr hence the enhancement of Rs 24.22 Cr.

Similarly, for SMC the revised Cost is Rs 375.45 Cr, and the approved Cost – Rs 226.44 Cr with an enhancement of Rs 149.01 Cr.

Likewise, the revised Cost is Rs. 239.72 Cr and the approved Cost is Rs.191.65 Cr with an enhancement of Rs 48.07 Cr and the revised Cost is Rs 118.85 Cr and the approved Cost is Rs. 81.94 Cr with an enhancement of Rs 36.91 Cr for DULK and DULJ respectively.

The meeting held threadbare discussions over the justification of Revised Costs in SBM-2.0, door-to-door coverage – Procurement of C&T Vehicles for achieving 100% D2D collection.

The meeting also reviewed the status of Land Transfer for establishing Waste Processing Units, Legacy Waste Management-Bio-Remediation, Processing of Dry & Wet Waste – Construction of MRF & Composting Pits, and Machinery for MRF facilities. Besides, reviewing the installation of mechanical components of the transfer station at 5 locations (Stationary compactors, Hook Loaders), Plastic Waste Management, ODF+ Certification, Proposal for CT/PTs including aspirational Toilets, and Proposal for IEC and Capacity Building.

On the occasion, Principal Secretary also sanctioned several projects while also directing revisions of various other projects for final approvals.

Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Director Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Kashmir/Jammu, Director SBM-Urban, Director Finance H&UDD, Development Commissioner Works, Chief Engineer UEED, representatives Finance Department, Forest, Ecology & Environment, Rural Development Department, Jal Shakti, Pollution Control Committee were present in the meeting.
