Srinagar: Police in Sopore arrested a thief and recovered stolen property from his possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said on October 10, a police party of Vilgam at a checkpoint established at Sheikhpora crossing intercepted a load-carrier auto (JK01AB-5369) and recovered three quintals of stolen electric wire from it.
The driver identified as Farooq Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid of Sheer Colony-B Sopore, was arrested and the vehicle seized.
A case has been registered in this regard and further investigation initiated.
