Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Friday said that it is the true representative of the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Presiding over a meeting of senior party functionaries of Zadibal Constituency here in Srinagar, Party’s Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq said that the party is determined to fight all the efforts of the ruling BJP to blunt the real representative voices of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Gerrymandering of constituencies, allowing outsiders to register as voters and everyday surfacing of new political parties makes it pretty clear that the central government in connivance with its local B teams wants to install a legislature that will parrot what it wants to. We are not against having new parties in J&K, but the timings and the constituent elements of the newly formed dispensation are what frets common people who are privy to everything. Why only Kashmir? Why don’t such parties prop up anywhere else? They know that when it comes to protecting J&K’s unique identity, NC won’t compromise. However people have made it a point to register as voters and subsequently vote in large numbers to show such B and C teams their real place,” he said.

“We have given a detailed list and given the highlights of the development works done by us in our era. People are the best judge, they have lived the trauma of unemployment, underdevelopment, and indignity for the last many years. All they want is administrative relief, development, protection of their unique identity and vital political interests which only NC can provide,” he added.
