Srinagar: An unidentified female body was recovered from River Jhelum at Sher Colony Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district Tuesday afternoon.

The body was seen floating by some locals in the river at Sher Colony Sopore who informed the concerned police about it, news agency GNS reported.

A police team reached the spot and took the body to hospital for medico-legal formalities.

A police official confirmed that a female body has been recovered from the river. Identification of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, he said, adding a case has been registered in this connection and further investigation has been taken up.
