Dheeraj discusses issues of ULBs of Kashmir with MC heads

SRINAGAR: Principal Secretary Housing & Urban Development Department (H&UDD), Dheeraj Gupta today chaired a meeting with Presidents of several Municipality Committees of Kashmir to discuss various issues related to these Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

The meeting was attended by Director ULB Kashmir, Mathora Masoom; Chairman Coordination Committee ULB Kashmir, Muhammad Iqbal, Presidents of Municipal Councils/Committees, and other concerned officers of ULB Department Kashmir. Jammu-based officers attended the meeting via video conferencing.

At the outset, Chairman Coordination Committee ULB Kashmir put forth various issues related to the ULBs for early resolution.

Gupta observed that various issues have already been resolved and the rest will be sorted out soon.

He also issued on-spot directions to the concerned officers to resolve issues of the MCs on a priority basis.

He also asked Director ULB Kashmir to map proposals of every MC so that those would be taken up with the respective district administrations for redressal.

Gupta appreciated the heads of MCs and said that a lot of work has been done by them in the past two years as their work is on the right track.

He asked them to utilize manpower in a rational manner and also to generate resources out of their respective MCs.
