Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 14 fresh positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours which pushed the cumulative infection tally to 4,79,076, officials said Sunday,

They said nine of the fresh infections were reported from Jammu division and five from Kashmir.

In Kashmir division, Srinagar reported four cases and Baramulla reported one case while as no other district reported any fresh cases today.

In Jammu division, Jammu reported five cases, Doda reported three cases and Kishtwar reported one case.

Moreover, 23 more COVID-19 patients were discharged from various hospitals, including 17 from Kashmir and six from Jammu division, in the last 24 hours after their recuperation, they said.

They said 717 doses of COVID vaccines were administered in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across Jammu and Kashmir till date to 2,45,56,824.

According to the daily media bulletin on COVID-19), currently there are 159 active positive cases in J&K, including 105 in Kashmir and 54 in Jammu division. So far cumulatively 4,74,132 infected persons have recovered and 4,785 have died – 2,433 in Kashmir and 2,352 in Jammu division.

Active Covid cases in country decline to 43,994

With 4,777 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India’s total tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 4,45,68,114, while the active cases declined to 43,994, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.

The death toll climbed to 5,28,510 with 23 fatalities which includes 11 deaths reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated.

The active cases comprise 0.10 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate increased to 98.72 percent, the ministry said.

A decline of 442 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.58 percent while the weekly positivity rate was 1.63 percent, according to the ministry.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,39,95,610, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 percent.

According to the ministry, 217.56 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination

The 12 fatalities reported in the last 24 hours include three from Maharashtra, two each from Punjab and Tamil Nadu.
