H&H Department exhibition concludes at SKICC

SRINAGAR: Continuing its Exhibition Programme and providing opportunities for artisans to market their products directly, the Department of Handicrafts and Handlooms Kashmir (H&H) successfully concluded its exhibition at SKICC Srinagar.

The Exhibition was organized by the department on the sidelines of the Two-days North Zone-I Regional Conference on ‘Contemporary Judicial Developments and Strengthening Justice through Law and Technology’.

The conference was inaugurated by Justice A.S. Oka, Judge Supreme Court of India on Saturday.

During the exhibition, the Judges visited the stalls and appreciated the efforts put in by the artisans for creating the masterpieces on display. Live demonstration and display of crafts was also done by the master craftsmen from the School Of Designs Srinagar for the visiting dignitaries.

The Department is on mission mode to promote genuine artisans who have been identified through the Craft Safaris. During the exhibition, Ess Carpet Workers Idgah, Shah Handicrafts Zadibal, Pashmina Weavers ICS Kathi Darwaza, and Noori Ari Workers Noorbagh displayed their artistic creations.

While acknowledging the efforts of the Department, the artisans who attended the exhibition demanded that more such events need to be organized in the future for their encouragement and exposure.
