He further directed to recover the disbursed money from bogus beneficiaries who were not eligible under the rules of the scheme.

Moreover, he emphasized on the provision of mobilization advance to the beneficiaries who face financial issues to start construction and intimate them regarding interest-free loan being provided by banks for starting the work on construction of houses to become eligible for other installments provided by the government to beneficiaries under the scheme.

“PMAY Urban beneficiaries shall start work on the house before October 15, otherwise it will be cancelled and a chance will be given to the new beneficiary,” Div Com said.

Besides, Div Com clarified that there should not be any ambiguity between the urban and rural area regarding identification of beneficiaries under PMAY Urban.

He directed officers of municipalities to conduct visits to sites and get geo-tagged photos of the progress.

He instructed officers to create awareness among the people for registration of new beneficiaries as replacement to reluctant ones.
