7-year-old boy mauled to death in Uri

Baramulla: Six days after a minor girl was killed by a leopard, a 7-year-old boy was mauled to death after being attacked by a wild beast in Molinag Behak on Thursday late evening in the forest area of Dhani Syedian Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Locals of the Deni Syedana village told Kashmir Images that a girl identified seven-year-old boy identified as Ali Hussain (7) son of Abass Hussain was with the family in the Molinag Behak forest area when a wild animal attacked him. After pouncing him, the wild animal took him away to nearby forests.

“Alarmed by his cries and screams, family and neighboring locals tried to chase the wild animal, possibly a leopard, however, the beast disappeared in the dense forests with the child,” he added.

They added the wild animal attacked him and vanished into the dense forest area along with him.

The family raised a hue and cry but could not save him from the clutches of the beast. Later, a police party also reached the spot and started massive searches along with the locals and family.

The body of the slain boy was found in a nearby forest area three kilometers away from the Molinag Bahak.
