Srinagar: Anti Corruption Bureau Saturday said that its sleuths have arrested a Patwari (Revenue official) in Kupwara for demanding and accepting bribe.
Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) said it had received a complaint alleging that Abdul Aziz Dar, Patwari of Halqa Mufalpora, Tehsil and District Kupwara, was demanding bribes for providing revenue extracts.
After registering a formal case, a trap team was constituted, which caught the said Patwari red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹ 5000 from the complainant. He was arrested and the bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses, ACB said, adding further investigation of the case is going on.
