FCS&CA Kashmir recovers Rs 39k from erring traders

SRINAGAR: The Enforcement Wing of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Kashmir has recovered a penal sum of Rs 39,000 from 39 erring shopkeepers for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

Meanwhile, three mutton and one vegetable shop and provisional store each were also sealed on the spot, moreover, police complaint against one vegetable seller was also lodged at the concerned police station.

The action against the erring was taken during the market checking of 335 business establishments conducted on 29 and 30 August.

It is worth mentioning here that during the current financial year, an amount of Rs 50.11lacs has been collected as a fine from 10742 erring traders for violating E.C. Act. Besides, 182 establishments have been sealed and police complaints against 12 erring traders also stand lodged.

Moreover, the erring lot has been reprimanded to remain careful in the future. The drive will continue in the same passion in the future as well and whosoever is found violating the norms will be brought to justice.
