Srinagar: Police on Thursday arrested an alleged extortionist along with a dummy pistol in Srinagar district.
“Extortionist namely Umer Qadir Dar, son of late Ghulam Qadir Dar of Harnambal Zaffar colony Natipora, has been arrested,” police spokesman said.
He said that Dar was using fake pistol to intimidate his victims. Two mobile phones and one laptop were recovered from his possession, spokesman said, adding a case (FIR No. 66/2022) has been registered in Kothibagh Police Station in this regard.
