Budgam: Additional director general of police (ADGP) Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar said that all three militants of LeT have been neutralised during an encounter in Budgam district on Wednesday.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) ADGP Kumar termed the killing of three militants as a big success for the forces.

He also said that bodies of militants were being retrieved from the site of encounter and their identification was yet to be ascertained.

“All the three hiding LeT #terrorists #neutralised. Bodies being retrieved from the site, identication yet to be ascertained. #Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition recovered. A big success for us,” Kashmir zone police tweeted.

As per police that two militants were killed, while operation was going on and let one more militant was killed, taking the toll to three.

Earlier, a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants Muqam area of Waterhal in the district.

An official said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated to, triggering a gunfight.

Notably, ADGP Kumar had, earlier in the day, said that three LeT militants including Lateef Rather who was involved in the killing of Rahul Pandit and Amreen Bhat were trapped in the encounter.

“03 #terrorists of #terror outfit LeT(TRF) including terrorist Lateef Rather trapped in ongoing #encounter. Terrorist Lateef is involved in several #civilian #killings including Rahul Bhat & Amreen Bhat,” Kashmir zone police tweeted—(KNO)
