Srinagar: Former Minister, Sukhnandan Choudhary, and former General Secretary BJP J&K, Satish Sharma today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan here.

Sukhnandan Choudhary apprised the Lt Governor of the damages occurred due to incessant rainfall today.

He informed the Lt Governor that villages Flora, Muthi, Udeywala and a few others of Tehsil Marh have been badly affected. The losses include damages to houses and crops. The former minister urged the Lt Governor to issue directions for assessment of losses and providing appropriate compensation to those affected.

Satish Sharma, former general secretary BJP submitted a memorandum of demands to the Lt Governor regarding widening of Dhar – Udhampur road, providing rail connectivity to Billawar and Basohli, construction of degree colleges in tehsil Ramkot and Billawar and besides demand of Kendriya Vidyalaya in the region, among others.

The Lt Governor gave a patient listening to the former minister and former BJP Gen Secretary, and assured them of appropriate action on the issues put forth by them.
