Dir Agri reworks scale of finance for different crops with stakeholders

SRINAGAR: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today held an interactive session with stakeholders to rework scale of finance for different crops.

Speaking during the session, the Director said that the interest of the farming community should be kept under consideration before any decision is taken at the highest level. He emphasized that the scale of finance of all eight crops needs to be reworked and policy documents be framed at the earliest.

During the interaction Registrar cooperatives also put forth his views and assured that the officials of the cooperative societies are in close touch with the stakeholders at the district level and important data related to scale of finance of the concerned crops are collected at the grass roots level.

Iqbal asked the officials of various banks/the technical experts/concerned officers to work on a mission mode so that the scale of finance shall be finalized at the earliest.

The meeting was attended by the Registrar cooperatives, Bank officers, concerned officers of the Agriculture department and representatives of the Horticulture department.
