Abdullah, Mufti families never wanted tricolor to be hoisted in Kashmir, says Chugh

SRINAGAR: Launching a scathing attack on Abdullah and Mufti families from Lal Chowk, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Monday alleged that the two families never wanted Indian tricolor to be hoisted in Kashmir.

Addressing a public rally at Lal Chowk, BJP national general secretary, Tarun Chugh asked PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and NC president, Farooq Abdullah to come and see themselves how an ocean of people have gathered  at Lal Chowk on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Divas.

He also said that Mehbooba and Abdullah were once saying that there would be no one to hold tricolor in Kashmir in case special status of Jammu and Kashmir was repealed.

“Mehbooba Ji and Farooq sahab, now what’s your take on today’s rally, you were once claiming that there would be no in Kashmir to hold tricolor if article 370 and 35A were even touched. See how many Kashmiris are here with tricolors in hands chanting Bharat Mata ki Jay,” said Chugh.

He said two families who ruled Jammu and Kashmir for decades turned Kashmir valley into virtual terror capital and spoiled peaceful environment as they wanted Pakistani flag to be hoisted in Kashmir and not Indian tricolor.

He said Mufti and Abdullah families formed a ‘gang’ called Gupkar Alliance, which he said is  a chain to loot people of Jammu and Kashmir the way two have looted them in the past. Chugh also said that India is capable enough to deal with those who cast an evil eye on it.

Without naming Pakistan, he said India has befittingly answered those who confronted it in the past and the same stands proved during 1998 Kargil war.

“India has always been a peaceful nation, we never attacked anyone nor did we infiltrate into their territories, but when need arises we will not shy away to enter into their homes like Balakot, Uri and Mammar,” he said, adding he feels proud that BJP has always worked for tricolor and unity and that activists of BJYM from every part of the country have arrived in Kashmir to celebrate ‘Kargil Vijay Divas’

Speaking on the occasion, BJP state president, Ravinder Raina said all those who laid down their lives to protect tricolor in Kashmir proved that they are real followers of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who always batted for patriotism, love and unity.

Raina while criticizing NC and PDP for always being allegedly ‘averse’ to unfurl tricolor in Kashmir, said Mehbooba and Farooq Abdullah should bear in mind that their venom spewing politics will not work anymore as here are the Kashmiri Muslims who have gathered at Lal Chowk with tricolor in hands.

He also said that BJP would emerge as single largest party in the upcoming Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir.

“BJP is going to win more than fifty seats in upcoming Assembly elections and would emerge as a single largest party to form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir,” added Riana.
