Heavy rains lash Kashmir parts, submerge city lanes

Srinagar: The incessant rainfall lashed Kashmir and Jammu parts on Saturday while the weatherman here has predicted erratic weather conditions for the next few days in the Union Territory.

The incessant rainfall that started around 08:30 in the morning continued for an hour bringing respite from the scorching heat. The rainfall also submerged the City areas, forcing the local people here to face immense hardships.

Director Meteorological department (MeT), Sonum Lotus said that the weather conditions would remain mostly cloudy in the coming days. However, he said that the rains, in spells, would occur in J&K parts till the next four days.

“There is no possibility of continuous rainfall. But, the intermittent rainfall could occur in J&K parts in the next few days,” he said, adding that the chances of rainfall are very less.

He said that the intensity of the rains would not be heavy as per the forecast while the light to moderate rains are expected in spells in next four days.
