Govt appoints 5 members to J&K Haj Committee

Srinagar: As per a notification issued by the Department of Revenue, National sitting MP Justice (retd.) Hasnain Masoodi and five others have been appointed as member of Haj Committee for J&K Union Territory.

Besides Masoodi, former MP and now BJP leader Talib Hussain Choudhary, Chairperson District Development Council Baramullla, Safina Baig, Muhammad Rafiq Chashti (Poonch), Molvi Muhammad Ashraf (Anantnag) and Syed Muhammad Rafiq (Ganderbal) have been appointed as members.

They have been appointed for a period of three years starting from today with publication of the notification.

The notification further said: “Dr Abdul Salam, JKAS, executive officer Haj Committee, shall be ex-officio member, and his term shall be till the officer is holding charge as executive officer, J&K UT Haj Committee.”
