SRINAGAR: Secretary Tourism, Sarmad Hafeez, today chaired a meeting to take a detailed review of the Tourism department and development authorities’ assets here.

The meeting was attended by Director Tourism Kashmir, Dr. GN Itoo, Chief Executive Officers of Tourism Development Authorities and other officers of the Tourism Department.

While addressing the meeting, Secretary Tourism called upon the CEOs of Tourism Development Authorities and officers of the Tourism Department for proper upkeep of wayside amenities and other services at the tourist destinations administered by them.

He also stressed upon them to have proper sanitation, besides liquid and solid waste management plans at the locations.

He highlighted the importance of better facilities and services to the tourists and visitors while improving the conditions of all the assets at tourist resorts by managing these professionally to attract tourists.

He said that the government is committed to giving further impetus to tourism in the region by creating eco-friendly assets at tourist destinations and resorts all over the Kashmir valley.

The Secretary also enjoined upon the officers to mitigate issues and bottlenecks if any, so that visiting tourists have a comfortable and memorable stay in Jammu and Kashmir.
