Kargil Victory Flame reaches Shar-e-Shali Pulwama

Srinagar: Kargil Victory Flame is passing through the districts of Budgam and Pulwama in South Kashmir on its way to the Kargil War Memorial at Drass.

“Continuing the journey, surging with pride, the Flame reached Shar-e-Shali, on 29 Jun 2022. The Victory Flame was received by senior officers and veterans of the Indian Army,” said PRO (Defence) Srinagar.

“In remembrance of war heroes and Bravehearts of Kargil war, wreaths were laid by the veterans and serving soldiers at War Memorial located at Shar-e-Shali. It was a proud moment for all serving soldiers, veterans and the local populace including school children, who witnessed the solemn event,” the PRO said.

“Veterans present on the occasion were also felicitated. School children and other attendees paid their respects to the Victory Flame and were brought to bear in mind that a “Hero is never forgotten, neither are his deeds”,” he said.
