Handwara: Body of a 17-year-old boy was recovered from a pond in Rajwara area of Handwara in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday, a day after he drowned.
As reported earlier, the boy had fallen into a pond while taking bath on Sunday. His body was fished out today.
Identifying the deceased as Altaf Ahmad, son of Mohd Shafi a resident of resident of Watsar, the officials said that after legal medical formalities the body was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a teenage boy died after falling into a well in Kralpora area of the same district.
Officials said that the boy identified as Bilal Ahmad son of Abdul Ahad, a resident of Kralpora fell into an open well following which a rescue operation was launched. However, he died and his body was fished out, officials said.
