Pr Secy Jal Shakti visits Baltal Base camp, other areas

Baltal/Sonmarg: Principal Secretary, Jal Shakti Department, Ashok Kumar Parmar today visited the Sonamarg-Baltal Axis of Amarnath Yatra route and reviewed the arrangements and preparedness of the department in view of the ensuing Shri Amarnathji Yatra (SANJY) 2022.

During the visit, the Principal Secretary held a detailed review of departments preparedness on the entire axis at several places like Zakura Transit Camp, Manigam Transit Camp, Kangan, Sonmarg, Neilgrath Helipad area as well as the Baltal Base camp.

While interacting with different stakeholders during the visit, Principal Secretary impressed upon the officers of Jal Shakti Department to provide round-the-clock water supply to all these areas besides langers and other public convenience places. He delved upon the officers to deploy an adequate number of staff to the base camp for the smooth facilitation of holy devotees.

While reviewing other facilities along the route as well as at the Baltal Base Camp, Ashok Parmar asked the officers of the Jal Shakti Department to install an ample number of drinking water points along the route to Holy Cave so that the Holy Yatris don’t feel any inconvenience.

During the visit, the Principal Secretary was informed by the Xen PHE Ganderbal that all the arrangements are in place for the smooth conduct of the Holy yatra. The Principal Secretary was also informed that for the first time department has installed RO’S of 250 litres per hour capacity at various points so that clean and purified drinking water is available for Holy devotees.
