Dulloo visits Mega Fruit Plant Nursery, Chakroi, R.S Pura

JAMMU: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dulloo today visited the Mega Fruit Plant Nursery at Chakroi, R.S Pura here and reviews its infrastructure and other high tech activities established for production of quality fruit.

During the course of visit, Dulloo also launched the plantation activities of department by planting a sapling of citrus plant in the nursery. He also inaugurated the Hi-Tech Poly House developed in an area of 2000 Sq.m. for production of quality plant material.

 Speaking on the occasion, Atal Dulloo appreciated the work done by the department in developing the mega nursery on scientific lines. He impressed upon the officers to work with more zeal and zest for producing maximum number of quality plant material at the nursery so that the common farmer is benefitted. 

Dulloo asked the officers to aware maximum people about the high tech activities of the department so that they can take maximum advantage out of it and can produce quality fruits which eventually will uplift their economic conditions.

Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Sevak briefed the ACS about the developmental works going on in the nursery for its holistic development covering an area of 805 Kanals. He informed that the nursery will be developed with latest technologies for production of quality true-to-type High-Density fruit Plants of Mango, Guava, Litchi, Citrus etc. 

Pertinently, the mega nursery is being developed will be first of its kind in the history of department exclusively for the production of cultivars of high-density fruit plants. The nursery will cater the requirement of high-density fruit plants of farmers of Jammu province to a greater extent.

Director Agriculture Jammu, Joint Director Horticulture Jammu, Chief Horticulture Officers, District Level officers, HDO’s, and other staff was also present on the occasion.
