Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 38 new Covid cases on Thursday that took the cumulative infection tally to 4,54,623, officials said.

No Covid-related death was reported in the last 24 hours, they said.

Of the new cases, 25 were reported from the Jammu division while 13 were from the Kashmir Valley, officials said.

Of these, Jammu district reported 21 cases, Srinagar reported seven cases, Budgam reported two cases, Ganderbal and Kathua reported one case each, Samba and Kupwara reported three cases each while no other district reported any fresh case.

Moreover, 27 more COVID-19 patients were discharged from various hospitals after their recuperation, including 15 from Jammu division and 12 from Kashmir, they said.

The death toll stands at 4,755 — 2,425 in Kashmir division, and 2,330 in Jammu division, they said.

Currently there are 220 active cases in J&K – 141 in Jammu division and 79 in Kashmir — while the overall recoveries have reached 4,49,648, officials said.

There were 51 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus), they added.

On vaccination, officials informed that 7,230 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,32,10,964.
